Spirasi is the National Centre for the Rehabilitation of Survivors of
Torture in Ireland. We are recruiting for a skilled, values-driven
Psychosocial officer to play a key role in delivering rehabilitative
services as part of our Psychosocial and wider Clinical teams.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Commitment to the vision, mission, values and strategic goals of
Spirasi
* Relevant third level qualification in Social Science, Law, or
related area
* Ability to work well both in a professional multi-disciplinary
team and independently
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience of working with international protection applicants and
refugees; culturally competent
* Detailed knowledge of Irish health, education, social welfare and
legal systems in relation to both those seeking and having received
protection in the Irish State.
* Excellent ability to represent and advocate, communicate and
network
* Excellent self-care and awareness of importance of boundaries
* Excellent in use of IT and standard software packages
* Able to speak and write English to IELTS Level 8 (Expert User)
* Strong commitment to Social Justice and Equality
* Competent in working in a trauma-informed manner and providing
emotional support/psychological first aid to clients as required.
DESIRABLE:
* Proficiency in additional languages.
* Experience of working in a therapeutic setting
* Experience of working with groups.
